Overview:

Peace cannot endure in a world of environmental crisis and economic inequality. The Sustainability & Innovation Program recognizes that climate action, technology, and inclusive growth are vital components of modern peacebuilding. We view sustainability not only as a technical challenge but as a moral imperative — a way to ensure that progress does not come at the cost of future generations. By integrating innovation into our peace and development agenda, GPF aims to bridge environmental responsibility with human advancement.

Our Work:

Our work focuses on aligning green policy, innovation ecosystems, and sustainable business practices with peacebuilding frameworks. We collaborate with governments, universities, and private-sector partners to promote renewable energy adoption, smart infrastructure, and climate diplomacy.

Flagship initiatives include:

Green Gulf Initiative: advancing regional cooperation on renewable energy, desert reforestation, and sustainable cities. Innovation for Peace Summit: showcasing technologies that support humanitarian coordination and environmental security. Sustainable Futures Lab: providing grants and mentorship for youth-led start-ups tackling sustainability challenges. Through these efforts, GPF advocates a new definition of peace — one that includes harmony between people and the planet.
